Day 02: Drive from Chilaw to Trincomalee / Stop at Koneswaram Temple, Lovers’ Leap (Swami Rock), and Nilaveli Beach / Overnight in Trincomalee

After breakfast, drive approximately 6–7 hours to Trincomalee on the northeastern coast, with short refreshment and photo stops along the way. En route, visit Koneswaram Temple perched on Swami Rock for panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Stop at Lovers’ Leap cliff to hear the legend and capture stunning photos. Arrive in Trincomalee and unwind at Nilaveli Beach. Overnight in Trincomalee at a beachfront hotel or guesthouse.

Day 03: Trincomalee exploration: Optional hot springs at Kanniya, Trincomalee Harbour, and scenic coastal spots / Drive to Kandy / Overnight in Kandy

Morning visit to the hot springs at Kanniya for a spiritual and relaxing experience. Explore Trincomalee Harbour and nearby scenic coastal spots. After lunch, embark on a 7–8-hour drive to Kandy through lush hill country and small towns. Evening check-in at a boutique hotel or resort. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 04: Kandy sightseeing: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, and a cultural show / Overnight in Kandy

Full-day Kandy exploration. Start at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, witnessing the rituals and sacred ceremonies. Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, home to exotic flora, giant orchids, and iconic palm avenues. Evening cultural show featuring traditional Kandyan dance, drumming, and folklore. Day 05: Drive to Nuwara Eliya via scenic hill country / Visit Gregory Lake, tea plantations, and Hakgala Botanical Garden / Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Morning drive of approximately 2.5–3 hours to Nuwara Eliya, passing misty hills, waterfalls, and tea plantations. Visit Gregory Lake for a lakeside stroll or optional boating. Explore a nearby tea plantation and factory to learn about Ceylon tea production. Continue to Hakgala Botanical Garden to see exotic plant species and scenic walking paths. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya at a hotel or boutique guesthouse.

Day 06: Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawela / Optional stop at Ravana Falls, Diyaluma Falls, and Ella Gap viewpoints / Continue to Kataragama / Visit Kataragama Temple / Overnight in Kataragama

After breakfast, drive approximately 3–4 hours through scenic hill country to Bandarawela, stopping at Ravana Falls and Diyaluma Falls for photo opportunities. Enjoy viewpoints at Ella Gap for panoramic landscapes. Continue to Kataragama (approx. 3 hours), a major pilgrimage site linked to Ramayana. Day 07: Kataragama to Colombo / Stop at Tissamaharama Ancient City or Yala outskirts for photo safari / Evening leisure in Colombo / Overnight in Colombo

Depart Kataragama for Colombo, a 5–6-hour drive through southern Sri Lanka. Stop en route at Tissamaharama Ancient City or the outskirts of Yala National Park for a brief photo safari and wildlife spotting. Arrive in Colombo in the late afternoon for leisure, sightseeing, or shopping at Galle Face Green or Pettah Market. Overnight in Colombo at a hotel.

Day 08: Colombo city highlights and shopping / Airport transfer

Morning guided city tour of Colombo including Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, and key colonial landmarks. Enjoy shopping or a relaxed lunch. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure, concluding the Ramayana Trail journey with memories of cultural, spiritual, and scenic experiences.
